PERRY PAYLOR
Perry Paylor is a seasoned attorney with 29 years of legal experience. In 1998 Paylor joined the State’s Attorney’s Office for Prince George’s County as an Assistant State’s Attorney where he successfully prosecuted various criminal cases
including homicides, armed robberies, and drug related cases.
From 2003 to 2018 Perry owned and operated a successful law practice focusing on criminal defense, personal injury, and real estate development. Paylor’s client list included, Prince George’s County Government, the Redevelopment Authority of Prince George’s County, and the Housing Authority of Prince George’s County.
Perry provided legal services in connection the development of decent, safe, and sanitary housing in Suitland, commercial development at Bowie Town Center, and the National Harbor Project.

After 15 years in private practice Paylor returned to the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office as Chief of the Guns and Drugs Unit where he managed staff attorneys and grant funded personnel. In 2020 Paylor was promoted to Deputy State’s Attorney.

His leadership spans multiple critical units, including the Firearms Enforcement, Narcotics Intelligence, Major Crimes, Post-Trial, and Grand Jury Screening units.
Perry’s strategic vision and steadfast pursuit of justice guide these units, helping to ensure fairness and public safety in Prince George’s County.


Perry’s commitment to justice and public service has made him a key figure in Prince George’s County’s fight against crime. In addition to his legal work, Perry is an active community member.
He is a former Adjunct Professor at Bowie State University, sharing his expertise with the next generation of legal professionals.

Congressman Glenn Ivey’s Safe Streets Advisory Board: Perry contributes to a comprehensive review of gun violence in Prince George’s County, analyzing local, state, and federal resources to reduce violence.

Councilmember Krystal Oriadha’s Gun Violence Study Workgroup (Co-Chair): Perry co-chairs this workgroup, which convenes local law enforcement, public health, and education professionals to provide recommendations to the Prince George’s County Council on reducing gun violence.

Prince George’s County Opioid Abatement Task Force: Perry plays a crucial role in developing strategies to combat opioid abuse in the county. Perry’s leadership and dedication continue to impact Prince George’s County, driving progress in the community and ensuring justice for its residents.
